Posted By: Dan on 02/16/13 forAppelbee's Bar And Grill 5 stars means EXTRAordinary. Mass-produced frozen (and then microwaved) food cannot be extraordinary. This might be a good place to take the kids, but a national chain can't get more than 3 stars...(4 stars as a stretch).

Posted By: Winterwren on 12/31/11 forRalph's Cafe Truly sophisticated food at diner prices with a diner atmosphere. It is a neighborhood hangout. World food from all corners of the globe. Interesting flavor/texture combinations - I'm thinking of a polenta lasagna that knocked me flat. Home made hollandaise from local eggs. Home baked desserts, breads and muffins. Fish tacos to die for - the lime chipotle drizzle was mouth suck good with fresh lettuces and local haddock. Boutique jams fresh made in cute little serving dishes. Potato pancakes crisp on the outside, creamy inside. People LOVE their Alfredo Sauce. Baba ganoushe makes an incredible sandwich. Their quesadilla selections are filling and healthy. One can eat here frequently, have money left in your pocket, and rarely get bored. Bring your own booze is a plus. The night of the polenta lasagna, I brought in the perfect malbec and hummed all through the meal.

Posted By: Erik Mayle on 12/10/11 forMexico Chicken Coop This one of the worst places that I've eaten at. We had shrimp scampi and a London broil steak. The shrimp was over-cooked and the pasta was bland. The steak was definitely NOT fress and the taste was rather putrid. I could tell that it had cured in a marinade in order to cover up its lack of freshness. It was by far the worst steak that I have ever eaten. The salad bar was sparse with very little variety, and the vegitables were wilted and stale. On top of that, the prices were exorbitant to the likes of top-notch steakhouse. The service was alright, but the waitress seemed impatient and inattentive while at the same time rushing us to order. I will NEVER eat there again, and I do not recommend it to anyone.
Posted By: Sue on 10/15/11 forBrunswick Diner We are happy to eat here if it is open when we are passing through. The food is like home-cooked and satisfying. The waitress/cashier has always been friendly and helpful. We like the casual '50s atmosphere and the chance to select a song from the jukebox. ( It is a cash-only restaurant, but has an ATM outside if needed. )

Fish Fry on Fridays with Prme Rib (you can't beat) on Friday and Saturdays evenings. The atmosphere is very friendy-- the owners come around to make sure you are receiving their best reception and food and are just great people-- must try.....
